6.8.5. Initiative Ministry
In Partnership with Pambazuka Ministires Uganda

Our Teen Mother's Program
God has called each one of us to minister to a suffering world. We may not be able to help everyone, but we can do something to help change the world of one woman at a time. God has given us no greater task than to relieve someone else's pain.

The 6.8.5. Initiative and Pambazuka Ministries have chosen to stand in the gap for suffering teen mothers and their babies in Uganda. Our ministries are doing this by bringing small groups of homeless teen mothers from four different villages in Uganda to the Selah Rescue Center in Jinja. The teen mothers and their children will reside there for approximately 6 months as they learn tailoring, hair dressing, health care, proper nutrition for their babies, parenting techniques, literacy skills, business training, and most of all spiritual support.

Our prayer is that this new set of skills will set the mothers up for success as they return to their villages rescued, renewed, and redeemed.

The first group of 15 teen mothers arrived at the Selah Rescue Center in December 2024 and graduated from the program in May 2025. The second set of teen mothers and their babies will be arriving in late August 2025.

In October 2025, the teen mothers learned how to make unique jewelry and have begun selling their creations to make some money for the ministry.

The October 2025 team brought a trauma therapist along who held a 3-day trauma program with the teen mothers. Here Terry (the trauma therapist) is giving each of the girls a bag with journaling supplies.
